As you look over my comments on Essay Two, keep in mind that there are five different forms of feedback I give you on your essays: comments in the essay itself, the scores on different parts of the rubric, comments in the comments box, comments using grading codes, and highlighting errors related to joining clauses in yellow and highlighting fragments in green.

If you don't know how to see the comments I wrote on your essay itself, go to the video at this link to learn how to do so. The video says you should find the assignment by going to the "Assignments" tab, but that tab is hidden on our Canvas page, so start instead by going to the page where you uploaded the assignment. **Please keep in mind that it is MUCH harder to see all the comments I wrote if you are looking at them through the Canvas app. It is much EASIER to see all the comments if you go through the Canvas webpage and click on "Submission Details" and "View Feedback."**
To understand what grading codes like E15 and E11 mean, look at this handout which explains them.
To understand each category of the rubric, click on "view longer description" in each row of the rubric to see an explanation of what points in each category are based on.
To understand what mistakes you made in joining clauses correctly (indicated by highlighting in yellow) or how to avoid creating sentence fragments (indicated by highlighting in green), see videos posted in this week's Lab module.

After you have read through my comments in the essay itself, seen your scores on each category in the rubric, looked up the grading codes I used in grading your essay on this handout and found out what they mean, reply to my comments in the comments box (see picture below of the comments box) by answering these four questions by Sunday, Nov. 14 at 11:59 p.m.:

1. What are at least two things you did well in Essay Two?

2. What are two things you can improve on? To answer this question, you might look over the rubric and see where you lost points.

3. What are two of the grading codes I used when grading your essay and what do they mean?

4. What are two specific steps you will take when you revise Essay Two to make it stronger?

Optional: You might also ask any questions you have about my comments! If you have questions, I'd also recommend you email them to me just to make sure I don't miss them!

To submit your answers, click on "Add a comment," type your answers in to the comments box, then click "Submit."

Your reply to my comments will count as one quiz grade. If you answer all the questions thoroughly, you will get 100 on a quiz. If you do not reply by Sunday, Nov. 14 at 11:59 p.m., you will get a zero on a quiz.

Also, please be aware that you cannot get any credit for the required revision of Essay Two which will be due on Wednesday, November 17th until you have replied to my comments on the original version of Essay Two which was due in October.
