Why are you completing this Quiz?

Plagiarism is often done accidentally by a student. Most do not intend to plagiarize, but it happens and it is a serious offense in college. These short videos will help you understand what is and what is not plagiarism so you can avoid it! Take your time watching the videos and think about your own work. If the words you are writing are not your own, credit needs to be given to the person that spoke those words. Once you get into this practice, avoiding plagiarism will be easy and stressfree :=)

Dear Students:

Plagiarism is a serious offense.

Often time, plagiarism occurs accidentally…but, I am still obligated to report the offense.

“When a student engages in academic dishonesty, faculty have the option of requiring the student to see a college counselor, assigning a lower or failing (F) final grade in the course (or denying promotion from a non-credit course)… Violations of this policy will be reported to the Vice President of Instruction and will become part of the Glendale College Cheating Incident file, unless the instructor finds compelling reasons not to report a violation”

Therefore, plagiarism should be avoided at all costs.

  • All assignments in this course are run through plagiarism software, such as VeriCite.
  • Please do not turn in work that is not your own. If your work shows plagiarism, I invoke the right to lower or assign a failing (F) final grade.
