You're learning about how authority is contextual and includes many source types. Each of the sources in the week's reading assignment covers how each can be used in your research. Once you begin to recognize source types, you'll be better equipped to include use them appropriately in your research.  You'll read in the introduction that different source types meet different needs. This week we are learning about "types" and next week we will cover "Sources and Information Needs" To quote from your textbook Links to an external site., "With so many sources available, the question is usually not whether sources exist for your project, which ones will best meet your information needs".
